In February 2026, my team placed second at CODON, the medical hackathon held at AIIMS New Delhi as part of INSIGHT 2026, a national medico-scientific fest that brings together students from medical and technical backgrounds.
I worked on it alongside my teammates Nishtha Pahwa, Amardeep Singh Rai and Gurnoor Kaur.
The problem
Medication errors are among the most common preventable causes of harm to patients, and many of them begin at the moment of prescribing: a dose worked out in a hurry, a risk buried in a long history, a detail that was in the notes but not in front of the prescriber when it mattered.
What we built
Healix is an AI-assisted clinical decision support system that checks a prescription in real time, as it is being written. It:
- Summarises the patient. Condenses the record into what matters for the decision at hand.
- Checks the dose. Helps with accurate dose calculation.
- Flags risk. Highlights potential safety issues before the prescription is finalised.
Like any decision support tool, Healix is meant to support the prescriber's judgement, not replace it. Its job is to make sure the person writing the prescription has seen what they need to see.
